From Octopus, you can head into the hills, follow small village roads, stop at local temples or find a waterfall hidden in the green. There is no need to turn it into a full-day expedition — some of the best places are surprisingly close.
Take a scooter, bring your camera, and see where the road takes you. North Bali is best explored without too much of a plan.
